Sun N Fun, Helicopter Ride, and Wonder Works, Florida Trip 2010

I just had to split up these posts. It was just too much for one Saturday we headed about an hour west to Lakeland for Sun N Fun. It is a huge air show/fly-in that happens every year. Before A was born, Hubby and I used to go almost every year. We hadn’t been since she joined us though, so it was a thrill for us to go back. A had a blast too. The highlight of my day…the Thunderbirds performed at 4:00. I could watch those jets all day!!!!

This is a kid who knows how to have fun.

This is Wonder Works from the air. It looks like someone ripped it out of the ground and sit it back down upside down. It is very cool.

I thought this was outstanding. I loved to just stand and look at it.

Inside we got to do earthquake and hurrican simulations. It was interesting to experience some of it knowing that we were safe. For people going through it for real, I can only imagine how terrifying it would be.

Epcot 2010

A and I joined Hubby on a business trip in Florida on the 16th. We had such fun!!!! We traveled out on Thursday afternoon after I got A from school. We spent Friday at Epcot, Saturday at Sun N Fun in Lakeland, Florida, and came home on Sunday. However before we went to the airport on Sunday, we took a helicopter ride over Orlando and then went to Wonder Works. Very cool place! It was almost like a kid’s science museum. We had a blast there, grabbed some lunch, and then headed to Orlando International. We had a great few days and can’t wait to add more memories next week when we are off again, but this time it’s really a vacation for all of us. I’ll update as soon as I can

We ate lunch at the Coral Reef. They actually had sting rays swimming around in there. It was pretty cool!

And of course A's pizza came in a Mickey-shaped plate.

And this was her make-it-yourself sundae. She thoroughly enjoyed that.

We did the Nemo ride right after lunch. Very cool...A loved it!

Hubby got to ride a Segway for a few minutes. He did great!

On one of the rides, a story was made up about the riders. This was A's favorite part of the day...watching the story about me and her.

This was really cool too. A loved hanging out in the garden. Like everything else, Disney didn't do this half-way. It was gorgeous!

The World Showcase was amazing. So many countries were represented there. The buildings, food, gifts, and even employees were authentic. We loved it!

The character shrubs were cool too.

This is still in Mexico. This is inside a restaurant and gift shop. The attention to detail is amazing.

A waiting on the fireworks. None of those shots took. Suffice it to say that is was absolutely amazing, just like the rest of our day there.

Hubby took this of A next to one of the fountains on our way back out of the park. She had wanted a picture by that fountain and we hadn't gotten it. I love this shot.

Family Easter 2010

We had a very nice laid-back Easter this year. On Saturday we colored eggs and then on Sunday we had a nice egg hunt at our neighborhood park. We had at least another dozen little egg hunts inside the house too. A finally tired of hiding and hunting, but she sure had a great time over Easter weekend. Enjoy!

School Easter Party

On April 1st, the school had a very sweet party for the kids. They started with an egg hunt. Each child was allowed to find 20 filled eggs. A found one of the three golden eggs!!!! It had a dollar inside. She was thrilled The school also had a petting zoo (a huge hit with A), free hair braiding (another hit), a bounce house (how can you go wrong with one of those?), cotton candy (yep, another hit), and face painting (A got a bunny face, what else could she possibly get at an Easter party?)

We had such a great time. I’m sure you would have never guessed that from what I just wrote or from the following pictures…
