This afternoon was A’s second one-on-one karate class. She went over everything she had worked on in the last class and learned a bit more this time too. She has now earned her white belt and is ready to begin classes. We will be starting that soon and never worry, pictures will be coming
We were very proud of our girl!

The instructor put the belt on her. It was cool!

Proud girl!

Well, the grin is getting cuter all the time. This afternoon A lost her other front tooth. The tooth fairy is pretty busy in our house! That was Tooth #6!

She has now lost the front bottom four and the top two. You can see the bigger ones that are coming in.

Cutie!

On Saturday we headed down to UT at the Union bowling alley for J’s 6th birthday party. Six of the nine kids from A’s class were there so she was really excited to see everyone. The kids bowled and had yummy pizza and cupcakes. Fun afternoon! Happy Birthday J

A, T, and the birthday girl!

A with B. He is a cutie!

T is a sweetheart too!

A just loves E too!

And of course these two are such buddies

It was great to be on campus again. I love UT!!!! It felt like I was home

T and I took the kids to the Hutto Public Library today to catch the Lucas Miller show. It was fabulous! A and I had seen him before at the toy store and the Cedar Park Library, but it was T’s and her kiddies’ first time seeing him. They loved the show. We bought some CD’s, had them autographed, and took some pictures. It was a great way to spend the morning. I think we all learned some cool stuff too
Since one of my good buddies has a restaurant in Hutto, we stopped in there for lunch. She was very pleased and surprised. And she gave A some birthday money too! We were so grateful. It was great to see you Ms. T. We were glad to see you have great business for lunch, but sure wished we had more time to chat with you. We’ll be back soon, we promise.
After lunch, we headed back to our house for some cupcakes (see yesterday’s post) and hours of playing. The highlight I think was when little A (J’s little brother) came downstairs in a very stylish dress. A and J had a great time today and even though they were together nonstop since about 10:oo am, they were very sad to say goodbye. I count that as a good day amongst friends

Picture of the girls before the show started.

They were pretty darn cute, so I thought I'd take another

This guy is awesome!

He was showing the kids all about bluebonnets.

This song was great. It was a rap song about honey bees and taught about protecting the hive. The analogy is of course that our hive is the earth. Loved the message and how it was tied in.

A loved the song about the anaconda.

Little A is a doll. He played with me a bit at the house today, more than he ever has before. I think we are beginning to be buddies

This shot is to show what great seats the girls had. They loved his little bit with the puppets.

Lucas is autographing A's CD. Of course we listened to it on the way home

Cool!

Those kids had a blast!

We met up with T and her kiddos this morning and convoyed down to a library in Austin to see Mr. Puppet. We hadn’t seen him since last summer and he didn’t disappoint. The show was great as always and A just loved seeing him again. He remembered her by name! J really enjoyed the show too. It was her first time seeing him. Those girls were in the very front and had the best time together. After the show we headed to Chick-Fil-A for some lunch. The kids played for a bit as well. We cut it short though because that place got really crowded fast! So A and I headed to meet Hubby for some yogurt and then knocked out the week’s grocery run.
That brings me to the second part of today – cupcakes! We had a box of cake mix leftover from Hubby’s birthday cake-making awesomeness, so we picked up some baking cups and a cool can of icing with a top like you find on whipped cream. That was the easiest time I have ever had decorating cupcakes! They were very yummy too

A had her first one-on-one karate class this afternoon and she did great. The instructor is super nice and patient, really great with kids. Hubby and I both really like him. A loved him! He taught her how to enter the gym, bow, enter the mat, three blocks, how to punch, and how to kick. She has another one-on-one class on Monday and after that she will be ready to attend regular class. The classes for her age group are only 30 minutes. I have been worrying about how we will fit this into our schedule this fall, but I think we can swing it if we do the 5:30 classes. What can I say? It’s great exercise, teaches discipline, and this kid loves it. I really can’t argue with too much about it. Oh, and by the way, the uniform is so cute that I could barely stand it
Her class will be the Little Dragons. A little green dragon is on the back of the uniform.

A and I are so thrilled that we are keeping up with our weekly playdates with T and her mom. We have so much fun with them! Today we went to Chuck E. Cheese. Those girls had a blast and burned through about 80 tokens in about 10 minutes
But no worries, we had some yummy pizzas and then us cool mommas got them more tokens. A got some extra tokens for her report card and she walked out of there with some very cool face paint markers that she happily used on herself, me and Hubby this evening

I didn’t really do a big post for Mother’s Day this year, so I thought I would just do a joint post. For our big days we both had yummy breakfasts, very cool lunches and dinners out, and darling handmade cards from A. We went to the Oasis for Mother’s Day and to Dave and Buster’s and Mikado for Father’s Day. We both love our angel girl more than anything and we are so happy to have her to celebrate these special days with. We are very blessed!

Mother's Day morning 2010

Mother's Day at the Oasis.

Father's Day at Dave and Buster's. FUN!

Father's Day dinner at Mikado.

Every year we get A’s pictures taken at Kiddie Kandids so we can use the number blocks. I have them all hanging together and it’s wonderful to see how much she grows and changes each year. I will keep this tradition up for as long as Kiddie Kandids will let me
